In a Middle Eastern security state, the Arab-Indian hacker Alif shields dissidents, outlaws, and Islamists from surveillance. The aristocratic woman Alif loves has jilted him for a prince chosen by her parents, and his computer has been breached by the state's electronic security force. His lover's fiancé turns out to be the head of state security, and his henchmen come after Alif, when he discovers a book which may unleash a new level of information technology.
