Kevin Pace is working on a painting that he won't allow anyone to see – a canvas covered in shades of blue. It may be his masterpiece, but he doesn't care. What he does care about are the events of the past. Ten years ago he had an affair in Paris. In the seventies, Kevin and his best friend Richard traveled to El Salvador to retrieve Richard's drug-dealing brother.
